Where better to enjoy the tranquillity
of Loch Lomond than from aboard a vessel on the Loch
itself.
There are numerous cruise options sailing from Tarbet,
Balloch or Balmaha. The cruises enable you to experience
the beauty, mystique and romance of the Loch and allow
you to gain access to remote parts of the National Park.
A regular ferry service between Inverbeg and Rowardennan
also gives an easier option for climbing Scotland’s
most southerly Munro Ben Lomond.
The ‘Queen of Scottish Lakes’

studded southern end with
numerous riparian historical stately homes, to the
dramatic northern end of Loch Lomond, fjord-like with
high craggy mountains and the deepest part of the Loch

TARBET DEPARTURES
The Ben Sunrise:
This cruise departs daily at 1000hrs allowing you to
enjoy the serenity of the bonnie banks while sailing
in the shadow of Ben Lomond.
The West Highland Way Rambler:
Combine a cruise with a 7.5 mile walk along the West
Highland Way. Following a 1000hrs departure and short
cruise, disembark at Rowardennan for walk north to Inversnaid.
Enjoy stunning views across to the Arrochar Alps, and
see an abundance of fauna amongst the Atlantic Oakwood’s,
keep a look out for feral goats and birdlife including
birds of prey high above.
Upon finishing walk at Inversnaid, above the Arklet
Waterfalls enjoy a refreshment in the Hotel, prior to
embarking for return cruise to Tarbet.
Inversnaid Explorer:
A vessel departs from Tarbet Pier at 1130hrs and 1330hrs
to the peaceful haven of Inversnaid on the eastern shore
of Loch Lomond. You have the opportunity to disembark
and spend two hours ashore.
Choose one of numerous short walks in the area, and walk
along the West Highland Way to visit Rob Roy MacGregor’s
cave, where Rob sought refuge from the Redcoats.
Alternatively the
RSPB trail takes you high above the canopy of
the trees to the RSPB bird sanctuary.
Picnic by the impressive Arklet Waterfalls or
enjoy lunch and a drink in the comfort of the
Inversnaid Hotel, prior to taking return cruise
to Tarbet.
Rob Roy Discovery:
The Discovery cruise departs daily at 1500hrs for a
majestic two hour leisurely cruise in the heart of Rob
Roy MacGregor country. Hear about the history of the
feuding clans and Scotland’s most celebrated outlaw
~ Rob Roy MacGregor.
Sample all the sights and the natural beauty of the
northern end of the Loch. Sail past Rob Roy’s
prison, two islands and a ruined castle en route to
Rob Roy’s cave perched in the rocks on the steep
banks of the Loch.

INVERBEG – ROWARDENNAN FERRY:
A regular ferry service operating between Inverbeg
and Rowardennan gives climbers easy access for climbing

the east shoreline to Balloch. Departs at 1300hrs and
1500hrs.
